HISTORICAL FENCING
Program Information:
Like sword-fighting but aren’t sure where to begin — or very sure you have three left feet? Benefit from centuries of pedagogical tradition and clear, explicit theory, so that you can fence well AND know exactly what you’re doing, when, and why. Make friends and have fun with a 20-year veteran of the Historical European Martial Arts movement who can help you to develop while also helping you to avoid common pitfalls.
I am a 20-year veteran of the Historical European Martial Arts movement and I run a historical fencing school in Irving hosted by Warlord Combat Academy, just SE of the intersection of Loop 12 and U.S. HWY 183. If you enroll you will by also, by definition, have access to me for consultation on body mechanics and movement issues as appropriate to the class.
Russ Mitchell has written two fencing-related books: one on body mechanics and one on the lineage he is passing down for Hungarian Sabre Fencing.
Group and Private Lessons available by appointment.
For those of you who are particularly nerdy, I am also an instructor in the Kyber Combat lightsaber class.
